Rice Center for Leader Development

Academic Minor in Leadership Studies - Students can take a military track, a military/civic professions track, or a civic professions track. All cadets are encouraged to take advantage of the resources and opportunities provided by the Rice Center for Leader Development.

Leaders in Action Program - A series of lectures and presentations by community or state public, military, and business leaders.

Cutchins Distinguished Lecture Series - Two to four national leaders will come to campus each year to make presentations.

Resource Library - This centralized library houses journals, books, audio, video and Internet resources on leadership. Various approaches to leadership in literature and media provide the Cadets with the materials to broaden their perspectives on the values associated with leadership.

The Cadet Leader School - A series of classes focusing on characteristics and challenges of leadership on different levels is sponsored organizationally by the Center. CLS involves a variety of activities from small group scenarios to more hands on exercises.

Cadets not interested in the VTCC Leadership Minor may also consider participating in the Business Leadership Minor. ROTC courses combine with managerial studies to create a contemporary leadership curriculum. The concentration focuses on the leadership skills necessary for success in the workplace of today.
