When most people look at members of the Corps of Cadets, they see the principles that the Corps embodies, and the University was founded upon: Brotherhood, Honor, Leadership, Loyalty, Service, Sacrifice, Duty, and Ut Prosim. However what they don't see is the long and difficult road that leads Cadets to this life of service. New Cadet week is the beginning of this path. Every year, the week before school starts, incoming Freshman Cadets arrive to begin their training. Over the course of one week, they are taught the basic skills of being a member of the Virginia Tech Corp of Cadets. For the next year, they work to refine their skills and knowledge to become the confident professionals that the Corps is known for, but it all starts right here with New Cadet Week.
